True...

I think the last stanza was me trying to make a twist in it.

I was trying to make it seem that Steve and Barry were in it together, but as a result it goes against the light hearted message of the poem.

Thanks for that valuable feedback Aiden, it's still work in progress so I'll update it later.

Not sure I get this. Has pirate Barry deceived loanshark Steve into thinking that Facebook Jim has taken out a loan? Or are Steve & Barry in cahoots to deceive Jim?

If Steve & Barry in cahoots, what difference does online security make? Cdn't Steve ring Jim, just on basis on phonebook entry, to demand repayment of bogus loan?

I love this. Having worn one for awhile, I know how it changes the skin, so this is very poignant. The last three lines are lovely. I keep reading over them to see what word combinations pop up. Thanks for posting it.

I also recently stopped at Gordano service station late at night on the way back from a gig. This poem sums up the experience completely! I especially like the

'Our seat is plastic as we tear
open our plastic prey from
their cartons'

They are such weird artificial places, like they've just grown up from the ground, but no-one quite knows how they got there....

I like the wedding ring poem too. sad, but beautiful.

see you soon!

A very intense poem, with powerful images. It invites multiple readings.
